I'm super excited about my primary lesson today.  We are learning about the first missionaries of the church, the places they went, the things they did.  For a fun and educational activity, I have made these mini-missionaries for the kids to color and cut out. (or they can draw their own) I'll have them put their name on the back along with the date and our ward.  Each child can send the missionary along with a letter to someone they know who lives somewhere else in the world. The idea is that the receiver takes the mini missionary around with them and takes a few pictures with it.  Then they can either send it back to the child with a report of his/her mission, or send it on to someone else and post their adventures on a Facebook page I set up called "Mini Missionary Mail". I really hope that people will participate and have fun.  I think it will be so neat for the kids (and me) to see what the church is like and connect with members all over the world!   Click below to download the mini-missionaries - or make your own!

Hello. Opinions Please?

Hello.  I have been working hard at trying to get things put together for the booth I'm doing at the County Fair.  I keep going back and forth between thoughts of "This will be a lot of fun" to "Why am I doing this? Nobody's going to want to buy this stuff."  I've come close to backing out several times. I'm somewhat of an introvert.  With special needs kids I don't get out much, and sometimes I feel like I socialize awkwardly with 'normal' people.   I'm perfectly content staying at home and drawing my life away.  I know it seems silly but this Fair booth is a big scary thing for me. I'm not really sure why I'm doing it, except that I kind of want to prove to myself that I can do something big and out of my comfort zone....anyway.  Enough whining. I've put a lot of time and effort into what I've done so far.  And I'm at a point where I'm running out of money to print and package things etc.  I'm going to have to scale back my plans.  So with the money I have left, I want to get the best bang for my buck.

I'm wondering if you all could please help me with a little 'market research'.  Here are some of the things I've been working on.  Under each picture will be several questions.  If you could please give me some answers to those questions in the comment section I would very much appreciate it.  Also, if you have any other suggestions or comments, feel free to leave those too.

These  illustrations are 8x10 prints.  The two on the bottom are part of a set of 5 images that my daughter with cerebral palsy drew of her special needs friends to teach her 5th grade class about kids like her.  I colored them.  Here are my questions:

1.  Which if any of these would you want to buy?  (rank your top three)
2.  What purpose would you buy them for? i.e. to hang in your home, as a gift, primary room decor
3.  Would you be more likely to buy them if they were greeting cards?
4.  Would you like more of a selection than this?

At the top are several different versions of Fill-in-the-blank Thank you cards for kids.
Below on the left is a memory matching game of table manners.  You match the do's with the don'ts.  I've had these professionally printed, so they are good quality like you'd get in any board game.
Below on the right is a paper doll of a dog that you can dress up. (There are more clothes and accessories, I'm just not finished with them yet). Here are the questions:

5. On a scale of 1-10 ten being the most likely, how likely would you be to purchase fill-in-the-blank Thank-you cards for your children to use?
6.  Are the themes of dancers, mermaids, pirates and sports a good choice, or is there something else that would be more appealing?
7. Which of these products would you be most likely to purchase and why?
8.  Is there anything you definitely would NOT be interested in purchasing?
9.  If you could purchase something in my Etsy shop to print yourself, would you be willing to buy it already printed even if the price were a little higher?
10.  What other things would you want to see in a shop with these things?

I am thinking of printing all the 'Follow The Prophet' images from my Etsy kits into nice card sets perhaps for a matching game.  I'm also thinking of making little books out of my Plan of Salvation set.  Any opinions on either of those things?

Thanks so much for all your help and input.  I really appreciate any help you can offer!

The Wise Man and the Foolish Man

I just love Camille from "Camille's Primary Ideas".  She has the best ideas!  This next month she is teaching The Wise Man and The Foolish Man in primary, and she is using my 'little houses' to do it.  You can find her lesson plans HERE, and you can download the little houses for FREE below.  They are printable that you can cut and paste to put together. I'm including all five houses even though I think you'll only really need two. :D Enjoy!

Something New.....

I'm being very brave.  I'm stepping out on a limb to try something new.  I'm renting a booth at the Davis County Fair in August.  That means I'll be selling actual, tangible products.  Not just digital downloads.  It seems silly, but I'm kind of nervous about that.  Equal parts nervous and excited.

Anyway....I'm hoping some of you will come see me there.  And I'm wondering if you have any suggestions about what I should put in my booth.  Do you have any favorites? Or ideas for something new? I'd love to hear your suggestions.  I've got till the end of August to pull something together. :)

Lesson 22 Primary 5

Hello Friends!
I just finished some handouts for my primary lesson.  I'm probably cutting it too close for most of you, but just in case someone can use this, I'm posting it.  My lesson today is about the printing of the Doctrine and Covenants (Called the Book of Commandments back then). It tells the story of a mob attacking the printing press in Kirtland.  The mobbers threw the printing press and all the printed pages out the window.  Two young girls, Mary Elizabeth Rollins age 14, and her 12 year old sister Caroline grabbed the printed pages and ran to hide in a corn field. I have discovered that my class (8-9 year olds) does best with lots of short activities. They also like to color while I tell them the stories. So, this hand out is a maze and a coloring page.  The maze is pretending to get the girls through the corn field to save the pages.  Though in reality the girls laid down and hid in the cornfield, I think this will still work.  I hope this will be of use to someone.

Oh! and before I forget, the mazes were made by  He's got an amazing site with all sorts of free downloadable puzzles and such.  Check it out! I made two versions of the hand out.  The one shown is an easy version, and the other one is from Krazy Dad's 'challenging' collection.

Nephi's Courage

I have just finished a quick little kit for Camille from Camilles' Primary Ideas.  It's a set for teaching the primary song NEPHI'S COURAGE according to her lesson plan.  It includes a mask of Nephi that you can mount to a craft stick, or add strings to and tie on. You can cut the eyes out so it is wearable, or just leave them.  You can buy it in my Etsy shop. OR.....

If you are interested in a black and white set that you or your primary kids can color,

the black and white set for FREE.

*When I first posted this set, I had forgotten to include the Laban character.  If you didn't get him, you can click on the download button again and get him now. I added him to the file.  Sorry for the inconvenience!  I hope you'll enjoy the set.

New Kits = Give Away Contest!

Hello everybody!  I hope you are all keeping your sanity.  This time of year gets so crazy and hectic with the end of school and everything else!  I am pleased to announce two new additions to the Etsy shop.  I'll be giving away three free copies of each kit to lucky winners that I will draw randomly.  I will announce those winners next Saturday May 27..... Wait a minute.  That's my 18th wedding anniversary. 💗 I'll be out of town with my Husband.  How about, I announce the winners when I get back on Tuesday the 30th?  If you would like to win one or both of these kits, please leave a comment  telling me which kit(s) you want and remember to leave your email address so I'll know where to send it!

This is a clip art set of the currently operating temples in Brazil. :). According to my blog stats, the greatest number of visitors from outside the U.S. come from Brazil, so I wanted to show them some love. Several other temples have been announced in Brazil, but I couldn't find any reference material to draw from, so they'll have to wait for now.

This is a clip art set of the story of the Good Samaritan.  It has the beaten man, the two men who walk past him, the Good Samaritan (of course) and the inn keeper.  It comes with black and white line drawings for coloring too!

You can always purchase these if you'd like.  You'll find them here in my Etsy shop.

Keep watching!  I have a few sets of different random things that I'm trying to pull together to get ready for the shop.  They'll be coming soon.
